Blogging About .NET

Moving to a new home

Since webmatrixhosting decided to remove accounts after 30 days of trial, I had to find a new home for my site, including my personal blog. I found Webhost4life, which have ASP.NET hosting at resonable price, with 300 MB of storage, SQL Server 2000 database, email and so on. For the moment the main site is not online, but two subdomains: blogs.mconstantin.eu.org and gallery.mconstantin.eu.org. Soon, I'll update and the main site.

If you're still in the trial period I might caution you to look at some other providers too. I've had Webhost4life for over two years but recently their service level has been rapidly declining and uptime has been pathetic. The only reason I'd recommend Webhost4life now is for testing accounts and also when price is the primary determining factor. The URL above is for Server Intellect if you're looking at others.

Hmmm, this solution runs on a Webhost4life account. I've run with them for over 7 months without major issues so far. One thing that bothers me is that they advertise secure Webmail way before I've subscribed and even now they don't offer it. I raised a helpdesk ticket, and the status of secure webmail was SOON (6 months ago). How long should it take to configure Apache or IIS to accept secure connection?

Unfortunately the price was a key factor in my decision, that's why I've choosen them.
